I've noticed the BFG water-cooled 8800 GTX's are available with either 1/4 inch fitting or 1/2 inch fittings.

The 1/4 inch card is $899 and the 1/2 inch card is $799. Other than the fitting sizes they seem to be identical.

Why the big price difference and which is better (and why)?

What is the standard Water cooling pipe/fitting size in the USA?

(sorry for the n00b questions, I'm a European just moved to the USA and just getting into Water Cooling).

Thanks guys,
Niz.

** UPDATE: zipzoomfly have added a 3/8" version and made them all the same price. The "which size is best' question still stands though. Which size should I buy and why?

If the only difference is the tubing connector sizes, I'd go with the cheaper. $100 is quite a bit and barbed hose adapters are only a few dollars and can be found at the big box hardware stores. In fact, there are many inexpensive adapters to go from 1/2 to 1/4" (or the other direction.) So there should be no problem converting from 1/4 to 1/2". I don't know anything about the industry standard for cooling devices in computers, so I can't comment on that.
