The gaming benchmarks are way better then other boards and this board can overclock like no other.

Wanna go sli? will you OC?

If no SLI, go with 965 with or without OC the board is much more mature and most likely cheaper to buy
if sli, 650i Sli might be a good choice remains to be seen.

If you want 450+ FSB with sli then that board might be a good choice, especially in MSI/Gigabyt/asus/dfi and such

the 680i looks good, I would wait for the R600 and certainly wouldnt get the eVga/BFG/etc cards, the layout suck,

400$ is a real joke, better come back to ~280!

It seems like a good board for what it does, I would consider it when it comes down to a nominal price... waiting to see how the RD600 does, and whether the R600 will be better than the 8800GTX before i make my move though...

whats the differance between the Asus striker and this

The eVga is the reference board from nVidia, wich mean nVidia did the layout and eVga put their name on it and sale it. Think of it as the intel 965 board.

Usually Asus/dfi/gigabyte/etc can do a better layout that improve the OCing off the board. They might also add/remove features, whatever they want really.

Expect for fancy marketing and a whole lot of heat pipe, I dont think this board offers much more then the average 680i but I could be wrong, no reviews yet!

I still recommand to wait because the layout of the eVga isn't nice(front panel connector next to the ram slot, wtf!)

not much of a difference, its mostly just eyecandy a couple of led's here and there, and lcd in the back and u get 3dmark for free... other then that, its mostly the same.

theres also another 680i board from asus, its pretty much like all the P5N32's, but this one has the 680i chipset, and i bet that this one will be under 300 bucks...

What do you think of these SATA connector on the edge of the board? look pretty good to me.

Things I dont like:
the PATA connector right next to the Power connector, might be a bit harder to cable manage that!
No color coding on the front panel connector. No big deal
Heatsink on the northbridge seem small to me!

I love the sata connectors mounted sideways, you have no idea how much of a pain it was on the original P5N32 when they were all mounted in the common position, the sata cables used to come in contact with the long video cards, and in some cases you couldnt use all the connectors.

About the heatsink what i did on my P5N32 was screw in a small fan on top of it just so it could cool it more, but the one that really used to get sort of hot was the southbridge

I know what you mean, built a few rig on P5n32, only had 1 HD in most of them though but it did get cosy with the 7950GX2 of this world!.

Cool side ways connectors for cable management

whats the deal on the cheaper models of the 600 series...... like the 650i and all that stuff?

any good?

Reply to Swany420

No specific review on them yet...So remains to be seen. but they should be comparable in terms of performance expect for OCing

You should see smaller OCing potential(should not be a factor with your 6600)

And here's the feature comparison:(doesnt work, weird , here's the link then)

Itll be rather interesting to see how the 650Ultra stacks up to the Gigabyte DS3 and Abit AB9 Pro.
