Need stability foremost, but would like to overclock some for gaming. Two questions: 1) Best bang for the buck memory for a n00b overclocker; 2) Better performance spending $400 on 2GB of Performance RAM or the same amount on 4GB of Value RAM?

I am very close to purchasing the same combo. I too am trying to decide on the memory right now. I am leaning towards the Corsair TWINX pc-8500 5-5-5-15 2GB sticks. I just dont think 4 GB are necessary yet... maybe when Vista comes out but you can always buy the other 2GB later.

I am hoping that the Evga 680i will take advantage of the 1066mhz sticks, if not then probably go with the 800mhz ones.

Which 680i are you going with? I was planning to go with the EVGA that came out now. Any advantages to waiting for the ASUS?

I was waiting for some of the motherboard details to come out in the next few days. Most of the first wave seem close in specs. I feel the same about the 8800GTX. Shortly we will get some comparisons and then winners will emerge and that is when I will buy. I should have Vista soon (MSDN) so this will be built for Vista from the ground up.

The same 'Core' OCing method applies. 800CL4 will do the best for OCing, unless you can find it with tighter timings.
I would wait for the Striker and RD600 before jumping into any ship.

Oh... I thought maybe you were talking about a site that had some in stock...

Not a bad price though, but dunno. I've never done business with them.

Guess I'll wait for pluscorp's stock to come online.
