What we did like:

There are some things not to like about the Spire Rocketeer VI, but there are many things to like as well. To begin with the exterior, the general appearance of the unit and its cables is marvellous. Spire placed a great deal of attention in making this unit as beautiful as it could be. Moving to the inside, the unit is built with fine quality components to ensure reliability to the maximum possible extent. The power of the unit is excellent, while the acoustic performance is very good too.

What we did not like:

While testing the acoustic performance of the unit under thermal control mode, we found out that the unit would heat up even if not loaded to a high level. The unit was not warm until load was above 60% and only the rear fan of the unit was working.

Who we would recommend it to:

The Spire Rocketeer VI is an excellent example of a high end power supply unit. It is modular, exceptionally attractive while powerful and quiet at the same time. The price of the unit will make it restrictive for OEM use, but we do not think that Spire designed this unit with OEM’s in mind. The unit is clearly designed to appease the most demanding modders, enthusiasts and over clockers and it is one of the best power supply units we have tested to date.

The Spire Rocketeer VI PSU is definitely worthy of our Editor’s Choice Award.
