I try to use a DHCP server in my home network. I test several software for this (linux SuSE and software DHCP server for Windows clients).
The results in both is always the same, machines with Windows 98 can obtain their IP but clients with Windows 2000 professional or XP didn't.

Somebody knows whats happen?? Could you help me?
Thanks a lot.

NOTE: the same PC (with both Windows 98 and Windows 2K on diferent partitions), can get IP in first OS but imposible in second)

I would suspect the configuration of the 2K machine. But it sounds incredible that that could be the problem. If you config with a static IP, can you at least ping the DHCP server?
