Epson 1640SU Scan 2 application launch problem

Hello Epson Xperts :-)

When I first started to use this scanner's smart panel to scan to an
application,
it would open a window that allowed me to register apps for the output
program, etc.
Now it bypasses that window and opens the one that shows the preview window
with the selection of Type of Document, etc. It uses Image Viewer only when
I scan
and I want to select something else. I read the docs and they were no help.

Help appreciated
