the nv 8800s are all very well but where is the mid range (?8600?) or even the lower end?

it will be intresting to see if nv can roll the same perfomance gain in to a smaller package on a smaller price tag!

I would say maybe end of this month into mid December is when we could see some more DX10 cards. Nvidia and Ati are releasing their flagship cards first, knowing people will pay any price for them.

They have a lot of development costs to earn back, and they need the early adopters for that. You realize of course that the performance will scale down along with the price. This card is nVidia rushing something out early to gain market attention and catch some Christmas shoppers. I am expecting that they will have another round of sweet cards right about when ATI's first cards ship. Although I expect ATI to bring out it's entire range of cards at the end of January, so we'll see where everything falls into place. Should be very exciting.
