If posed with the option of having

DDR2 533 RAM, CAS 4

or DDR2 667 RAM, CAS 5

Everything else including price being equal for a C2D 6300 system when not necessarily planning to overclock,

Which one do you pick?

I would pick the DDR2-533. Running synchronously seems to work best for C2D. Only when you get to 800MHz, does the lower latency associated with running RAM that fast help overcome running async. GL :)

Err where is this Cheap CAS 3 800 mhz ram? the two I listed are the same about 195 after shipping for 2 GB. GSKill Cas 4 800 mhz ram is 240, and I don't even see any cas 3 stuff but I imagine its even more than that. Thast already 23% more.

Still if you can show me were this relatively inexpensive ram is I'd be willing to give it a look.

Most likely thell have the same potential. But pick the 667CL5 since thats a guaranteed 333Mhz. If you run at stock youll be able to get 4-4-4-xx timings tough.
