I am trying to find motherboards that will boot from
a memory stick that contains my operating system.

Does anyone know of a manufacture that makes motherboards that will allow this type of boot up sequencing?
NOTE: I have no internal hard drive. The memory stick is my hard drive.

Any help appreciated!

It's not the MB you have to worry about, just set it to boot to removable USB device. Most MB's less than 2 years old do that.

The trick is to make the media bootable. Sticks are the hardest because of the nature of the beast. I've gotten 2 of the $16 MicroCenter 1G numbers to boot on my machine at home. Only one of those boots to the business class mass production numbers at work and any of those units over 3 years old can forget it. 2 out of at least 10. Damn Small Linux, DSL, is your best bet but I can boot a specific build of UBCD from a 5G miniUSB HD that Seagate makes. I haven't however been able to repeat that load on any of my coworkers drives and one went out and bought a 6G of the same type specifically for that purpose.

In the long run it would probably be cheaper and safer for the information on your stick to go buy an HD.

Unless of course the whole point of this exercise is for you to be able to hijack a public use system and bypass it's firewall. In that case you're on your own.

Luck
