E6400...hands down...on P5W DH Deluxe. You might want to look into an nVidia 680i motherboard. They look to be the cats ass for C2D now. GL :)

Why do you want to go with the 975 chipset?

If you want SLI: 680i, if you plan on running single card: 965 chipset, probably a better choice!

If your going with the 965 chipset the Asus P5B Deluxe is getting great reviews if you want to OC.

The best combination for a price oriented rig would be:

E6300

With
Gigabyt-GA965-s3 or Biostar Tforce or Asus P5B

Great read Anand...

i dont think ill ever install 2 cards

p5b is available.....dont know abt p5b delux and 680i.....will chek out tomorow

gigabyte and biostar are not available here in pakistan.....

P5B is a crappy board and a terrible overclocker

Either the P5b Deluxe or if your on a tighter budget look for the P5B-E both are superior in overclocking to all other boards including gigabyte's

don't consider the p5w or the 680i

You may want to wait a lil while for the Nvidia680 boards to become more widely available. As for the processor stay away from the PentiumD. They dont perform nearly as good as a C2d or even the AthlonX2 and the PentD uses more powewr and runs hotter and still cost about the same as a C2D or X2 chip. PentiumD is only good on the low end, the 805 and 915 are nice cpus for a budget dual core pc.

absolutely no point in getting a 680i motherboard unless you seriously are planning on going sli, all other 965 chipsets are just as good if not better than 680i mobos will be
