Hi all!

i have a E6600.

im about to buy a mobo.

I dont think im going to OC that much, and also I dont think im running my system with 2 gpus. BUT I want the best performance.
Ive had bad luck with ASUS and their DOA mobos.

I was almost decided to buy the ABIT aw9d-max. (looks awsome)

But just found the new nvidia 680i mobos. I liked the ASUS P5N32-E SLI or EVGA.

I own a 7800gtx and soon ill get my hands on the g80.

whats best for me?
I can handle a top price of 280$

Overclocking, and SLI are 2 of the 680i's best attributes. The Abit is a great board. The 680i is very tweakable...especially the many RAM settings, which can help you extract maximal performance from your setup. Nobody knows for sure if/what teething problems it may encounter yet, though. If there's the slightest chance that you will SLI in the future, than the 680i is the obvious choice. On the other hand, ABIT makes great boards..period. Take price into consideration, as well as how much you want to tweak/squeeze out of your system. Looks like the 680i is the new standard now, though. GL :)

Then defiantly go for the 680I they have Linkboost technology where if the mobo reads you have a 8800 or 7900GTX is automatically boots the PCI-E lanes up to 125mhz or 150mhz. The 680I is pretty kool and im going to buy one too once they come out with the the revision that fixes where the 4 pin molex is located(its right next to the DIMM's =/)

If you don't think that you will overclock much then either should be fine with a 6600. In fact both will overclock substantially with an E6600 & performance at the same clock looks to be similar.

I've seen a price today for the abit 680i board (IN9 32X-MAX) in the UK & it's quite a bit cheaper than either the eVGA or Asus Striker at least here but it won't be available for a month or so in Europe & until January in the USA.
