ok I need some info on this thing. I am having trouble finding charts and things on it. there is a 35w and 65w version right? I want the lower voltage if possible. has anyone seen benchmarking on the 2 cuz I am going ddr2 for lower voltage(almost main reason) and lower voltage is lower heat. I am not overclocking. I am going to usie it in 3 computers that run from 8 am to 6 pm mon-fri so power consumption is a factor, as well as heat to a lesser degree.

also i can use ddr2 800 right?

These are hard to find, and apparantly AMD is not going to put out much effort in making them.

It's not just vanilla Athlon 64 X2s that are hard to come by, though. AMD's low-power "Energy Efficient" Athlons have been difficult to find ever since their introduction. About those chips, DiFranco stated, "We're looking at our low-power desktop strategy a little bit. We don't think we have the perfect strategy yet, and I just think we're trying to determine what the best route to market is for those. So, until we really have that locked and nailed down, we're gonna continue selling our main-line products." AMD brought down prices for all its Energy Efficient chips to match their vanilla counterparts last month, but this statement suggests AMD is putting the Energy Efficient processors on the back burner for the time being.

Here's a review of the X2 3800+ EE SFF:

Yes, you can use DDR2-800 with them. They perform exactly the same as a regular X2 3800+. GL :)

If you're using them for general office work, the 65W chip may average 40-45W. If you're cranking it up, then you may have to wait since even Core 2 uses 65W.

yipes I think I was just sold on core 2 duo's. I wasnt a AMD fanatic but I liked amd better. but we shall see.

ok after further research... intel core 2 duo e6300
plenty cheaper than amd 4600 x2 less watts I have yet to see a side by side benchmark though any body have a link?

ok 1 more thing. I would also like to see power cunsumption charts with the 65w 3800 or maybe its about the same as the 4600? cuz the computers im makeing might sit idle alot and at idle 65w 4600 ran about half as power hungry as the e6300

This review should have everything you're looking for.

I think I am going with the e6300, I would get the 35w 3800 if it was available but... I think I will virtualy build an e6300 and 4600 systems and see which one comes out to be more costly. thanks
