e6300 with 4GB DDR2 Corsair XMS2 at 800MHz (cost about $180 more)
-or-
e6600 with 2GB DDR2 Corsair XMS2 at 800MHz

ON the pw5 dh deluxe.

I was also considering getting the 4GB DDR2 Super Talent at 667MHz if I did go the the 4gb route.

Please note this is a pre-built system so I can only go by what the options are.

This will be used for allot of photoshoping and some gaming. And i will be OC the processor a bit to get some more juice for the money. I"m really just not sure the the 800 vs 667 is going to make when its 4gb or ram.

Thanks

= ???

Truthfully, I'd go for the E6300 with 4GB of RAM and do some extra overclocking to be prepared for Vista.

ROFL got it
32bit OSs only allow a maximun of ~3.4GB, you can run one of the BETA versions of Vista but theyre filled with bugs. By the time Vista is out youll be able to get much cheaper memory anyways.

Well buying a pc now with most pc makers include a version of vista upgrade free. Thats another reason i like to get one now cause I can wait to install the OS when i feel allot of the bugs are out without the high upgrade cost. I really had no idea 32os had a ram limit. Seems kinda funny. 8)

OH what about the 677 vs 800 thing is it really that big of difference?

The P5W DH has a FSB of ~420Mhz without voltage mods and additional cooling. So any memory that surpases this would be overkill for the motherboard, and of course youll reach much higher speeds on a E6600 that doesnt require extremely fast FSB speeds.
