i have just bought splinter cell double agent and it won't run due to the shader model on my graphics card being 2.0 and not 3.0. i have a mobility radeon x300. is there any way to upgrade this or am i able to buy a new graphics card that will fit an acer aspire 1650?

The game really dosent run without SM3.0? I have never heard of that.

There is no way to upgrade. You will have to buy a new card. Most laptops dont support the replacement of any component, so ull probably have to buy a new laptop. Its never a good idea to buy a laptop with a low end graphics card.. I doubt ull buy a new laptop just for a game, though i doubt current games can be played on that laptop anyway.

Even if the X300 did support shader model 3.0, it would be no where near powerful enough to run the game. It's impossible to upgrade a laptop GPU, and chances are you don't meet the minimum CPU and RAM requirements anyways.
