Since I'm living in an old house with pretty thick walls and the DSL connection is one floor above my room it's difficult for me to connect my Centrino-Notebook. :?

Have you any idea which router with a wide range and strong signal power I could use? :o

I'm using a USR5450 AP ONLY not a router, it comes with 5dbi high gain antennas. I also use there 5410 PCMCI card. I know about built in cards they stink. Being a AP only up can positioned it to best cover your area. It was not cheap, partly due to the antennas. I live in a 2400sqft house. My AP is setup in one of my bedrooms. Currently I have the AP set to low power. This setup is so good, I can cover my whole house on low power with a connection rate of 54/125. (4 walls/50 ft) I'm the only one that connects so the 125 speed is the normal.

Below is an article I ran across when I was looking. It is a little out dated now but it show the USR5410 PCMCI was the Best at that time. I'm able to pick up signals no body else does and even connect to them. Stay away form the new 11n products. Mainly it is the std has not been finallized and is over a year off. What you will find is like the 11g played out. The pre 11g hardware had problems with the finalize spec. The processors wer to week to do the encription and handle the radio. USR choose not to release any pre 11g. They waited till the spec was finilazed, that way they were not forced to use hw that was not capable of performing well.

I hope this helps.
