I agree with the above poster. I have 2 systems at home, one with the 4200 and one with the 6400. Go with the 6400.

Also, I don't know about that power supply, is it a well know brand ? I would go for a brand like Antec, Thermaltake, Seasonic or something of the like. PS is not a place where you want to cut corners.

Do you need that much storing space ? That's almost 1 Tbytes of storing space. Drop one and save up money for the 6400.

Rest of the gear seems ok.

I would say for a gamer, you don't need that much space. Get the Seagate 320gb HD, and then upgrade to the E6600. You will be about $40 cheaper, and have a faster machine. You could always plug in another hard drive when you need it, but I just don't see you filling 300gb of space that easily.

Also, is going with the 7950 a good idea at the moment? I know it would be great with games currently, but if you are looking into buying/playing new games in the next 2 years, you will need a DX10 card, and then have to upgrade from the card you just spent $250 in less than a year.

Your retail box CPU comes with an excellent cooler for free. Use it.

Agreed. If you're not going to OC then stick with stock. :)

BTW the changes are good... I put the Gigabyte board in my original because that's the one I've read the most about but the Asus board works too. (This coming from a guy with i945 board, but it was free so.....)

I'm breaking my own rule messing with a Intel rig.....no more

That's a decent cooler but IMO the Scythe's are better rated. :) Again if hes not overclocking I wouldn't spend the extra dough.

And is it me or does anyone else think it's idiotic that the bulk of these newer coolers are using intels crappy mounting system?
