I`m visiting New York this week and I`d like to buy some hardware here.
At least an Intel Core i7 920, a x58 motherboard and some DDR3 memory.
Online shopping is not an option and I`m having a really hard time finding
computer hardware stores here. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
I mean, there must be at least a couple stores selling hardware here and
I`m not even asking for specific stuff. I understand I`ll prolly pay 10 to 20%
more but that`s a price I`m willing to pay since i cannot buy online.

Thank you in advance, any reply is appreciated.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but this might be useful to anyone else with the same questions.

I have found living in New York that the entire city is much more geared towards Macs than PCs. There are lots of great Mac stores around, but very few good, reliable PC stores. My suggestion if you're not looking for anything too specific is to try the J&R store downtown. It's huge, and their computer hardware inventory is fairly big. Plus their prices aren't too crazy.

Other than that, I've never found a really good place to go, and have stuck with Newegg whenever I can. Try J&R if you're not looking to buy online.
