SUP, I'm having the same problems with heat bro. I found the heat sink installation of the stock cooler a bit complicated because of the pressing and twisting of the pins. I think this my have caused a misapplication of the thermal pads or even not enough pressure on the processor, whatever it is its not good for the Processor to work a these temps. Intel's gotta work on a new heat sink design. L8er
We need a National Technology Specifications Oversight Agency (aptly named the NTSOA). And why shouldn't we? We have a zillion agencies already doing nothing with taxpayer dollars...shouldn't we have one that's actually useful? :-P
SUP, good idea; but how are we going to remove the thermal pads off the heat sink? And the processor that has already melted on? on my old processor i used to use a flat head screw driver but i don't want to be so physical with this one. L8er
What's the average temperature for an E6600 core 2 duo?
The BIOS tells me mine is at around 55C while in the BIOS setup screen. :?:
During Boot the CPU is running flat out, at its near-maximum temperature, 55 degrees being ok. Once it's in Windows it will settle down to 28 to 35 degrees idle, and again to 48 to 55 degrees at 100% load using the stock cooler. This is on the motherboard monitor, with Coretemp being around 10 degrees higher. You probably don't have a problem.
