Cheap case

Forum CPU & Components : Power Supplies, Cases & Mods Cheap case

ok, so I have a cheap case at home which has an old bodgy 300W power supply in it, and some old fans.

I plan on purchasing my new system once sme budget DX10 cards come out, but in the meantime, I can spend my time fixing up this case.

first off, I was planning on 430W antec truepower PSU, this was definitely enough for the DX9 cards, but will it be enough for something like the 8600GT (which hasn't even been announced yet but meh :P)

and, I was thinking, I should replace the no name fans with something decent so that my system is cool 8) 8) 8) 8). what should I be looking for with case fans? I will prolly only have one or 2 (plus the PSU fan).

I don't plan on overclocking.

i agree with mpilchfamily go with a 500 as you dont really know what the requirements are for the 8600 yet and a strong power supply would make you feel more comfortable when you do get one and the price difference isnt that great

regarding your fans so long as they are running at 12v (yellow wire) you wont really get that much difference however what size are they? im guessing 80mm if you have the space to fit 120mm fans id go for them

visit that link if you after something to do whilst you wait for the 8600 to be released

Check your temps with HWMonitor, Core Temp or RealTemp. SpeedFan seems to be wrong more...
