i am building a system at the moment and when i switch it on i can see that the maxtor SATA drive is recognised. i have connected it to the connector labeled 'sata1' on my motherboard. When i run windows setup it says 'hard disk not found, please make sure there is one installed :? when i go into the bios the hard disk section say 'RAID:Maxtor 7V250F' as the 1st drive. any help would be greatly appreciated :)

It's always a good idea to check out drivers at the manufacturer's website. Here's yours:

The SATA driver (last on the list) is what you're looking for.
