i've heard people refer to a few waves as "freakish mutant-shaped
waves". that's what i think of when i think Shipstern's. sort of
like "Ruffles have ridges", except bigger, wetter, deadlier.
extra mini-waves on the face of the larger wave, that is.
Shipstern's Bluff is a reef break near Tasmania, South Australia.
Pipeline in Hawaii is kind of the reference for tube-surfing.
then people started surfing Teahupoo in Tahiti, and the
comment was it makes Pipeline look "mushy".
looking at Shipstern's Bluff, it almost makes Teahupoo look - safe.

And to think, there was a time when I would try to subtly route noobs down here for you all to play with, when all that needed to be done was for THG to be consumed by a new owner that would open the 'other' to google searchs.
