I have an HP ScanJet 4c scanner that will sometimes scan 1 image and
then the bulb will stay lit and won't scan any more. (the PC has Windows
XP). It will also disappear out of device manager and I will have to
scan for hardware changes to get it back. It worked fine up until a
couple of days ago. I have installed the SCSI card and scanner on
another PC and it scanned fine. I have run system file check to make
sure the Windows system files are intact, I have uninstalled and
reinstalled the scanner also. Any ideas on what to try next?

What about the ASPI? Is it OK?
Windows XP must have ASPI installed for SCSI scanner devices.
