I have a finnish basement so I have a dehumidifier down there for the last 5 years or so. Recently I am getting a bad smell from the basement, recently I cleanned the air filter and it seems to work better. But the smell is still there and getting worse. Sometimes it's so bad, it smells like gasoline. ( like when you done cutting the lawn and you put back the lawm mower in the garage you get that smell ) Is there someone that I can call to come over and investigate this problem ?

Have you checked your walls for dead bodies?

Sounds like your dehumidifier isn't doing a very good job and you have a build up of mold.

Contact a certified mold inspector to come take a look.
