Anyone running the A8N deluxe with a athlon 64 3700+ socket 939..

Just wondering if i can just build it straight up or is there specific jumpers to change for certain FSB's settings, or cpu bios changes etc..

Just wondering so it will make the build go more smoothly. Parts should be here tomorrow, hopefully at this time i plan on talking on here with it.

Ok thanks,

Rob.

excellent guys..

how do you like everything so far?

and what did you upgrade from? if you did.
and how much of a performance difference did you see?

Thanks Rob.

i am currently using the a8n 32sli deluxe with an x2 4400.
previously a 3700.
before that the same but with a msi k8neo4 sli mobo.

no real difference except in oc,ing.
got 2530mhz with the 3700 on the msi board.
got 2730mhz with the 3700 on the asus board.
all stock vlts. never really tried uping the vlts for more oc though.
do run sli from time to time. i have 68gt,s,

but for everything else the asus has been great.
have had it for almost a year.

oh you went from a 3700 + to a X2 4400+

im going from an old xp2800+ to a 3700+.. then in a few years, whatever the best 939 cpu is available.. i'll upgrade to that. or if everything is really really cheap, probley go AM2.

but for some searching, aim, and counter strike.. sticking with the 939 for awhile will be a big boost since the 2800+ and honestly that system ran fast enough ... so i can't wait to see this thing.

"then in a few years, whatever the best 939 cpu is available"

Just a guess but in a few years you won't be able to find a new 939 CPU.

the 3700 is one of the fastest sinlge core out today.
its a good cpu.

the s939 cpu,s are goin out. you may not be able to find any
this time next year.

whenever possiable try to get an x2 if you can.
as it should hold you over for a whole new upgrade
a year or two down the road.

Im still able to find Socket A motherboards and XP series CPU's. X2 just came out.. it's highly doubtfull in 2-3 yrs i wont beable to buy an X2 or an FX series CPU for a socket 939?

wow that's crazy if i got that correct.

I just guess in a few years i'll just upgrade to a new AM2/CPU setup... atleast now i got my graphics card in PCI-e format and a Sata Drive lol. only thing im still far behind with is my DVDrw.. still running an old LiteON.. not even dual Layer yet.

Oh well.. new DX10 graphics cards will be out by the time i wanna upgrade again, i'll have to get a new card either way lol, i just don't win ...lol

true but the s939 pickins will be slim. kinda like socket A.
not much of a veriety.

new egg only list one x2 socket 939 the 4600. all others are out of stock. i just got the x2 4400
a month ago and it is now extinct, at new egg.
they have a few opty,s though.

the 3700 should still work fine for say another year.
the multi-thread stuff is just starting to come about.
i still have my 3700 and a new msi 939 mobo.
going to build it or have it all together before the end of the year. hopfully.

yea maybe by the end of the next year i'll be able to get money together and either build another new rig.. or just get a dual core for the 939 .. if like you said anythings left.

there out of stock in newegg.. but they still carry them. But i see your point.

if anything an AM2 mobo upgrade and an X2 for AM2 should still be out.

i can always upgrade to that.

i mean i only paid 119$ for the mobo and only 90$!!!!! for a CPU that's rated to be excellent. 90$ is extremely cheap especially since it's an excellent quality cpu.

i don't run photoshop, office or anything... i simply play cs, aim, firefox/toms.. an occasional bit torrent download... and some dvd ripping.. dvd shrink etc...

if my 2800+ was superb for that stuff and i was more then happy, i can't even wait to see this 3700+ in action.
