I been searching and trying stuff for years now. Starbucks is too expensive, BAWLS gives me a headache due to caffine and others just taste like @ss.

I was wondering if anyone knew of any smaller energy drink companies I might be able to try. What are your favorites?

My boss just gave me a couple different flavors of XS and its the best I've had so far. bought like 3 cases for me and my friends all of which were gone within the first 2 nights (Week long LAN). I got em online from this site:

bshumate.qhealthzone.com

Anyways I just wanted to let my fellow gamers and computer builders know about this and see who else had favorites. LMK.

Easy. Tequila.
November 14, 2006 8:00:40 PM

I would prefer some home-made coffee.
November 14, 2006 8:26:04 PM

Tea.... too much caffine actually downs you.

Spicy food and tea.
November 14, 2006 8:44:44 PM

When my friends and I LAN, we usually have tons of Mt. Dew, Greek food, Pizza and Red Bull...little beer here and there.
November 14, 2006 8:58:09 PM

Crown N coke
November 14, 2006 9:07:01 PM

Easy, the perfect combo is

RED BULL+COFFEE+COKE

DAMN!!! that 5|-|17 was weird

I used half a cup of coffee (black), then I added the coke and after that, the rebull....a LOT of foam was on the surface, but when I poured the sugar....there was foam all over the table!!! 8O just like a witch's cooking pot 8O I drank that...yuck! It sure waked me up, it tastes bitter as coffee, a little bit of coke and that redbull flavor was also there, funky indeed

That weekend me+meh friends had to use that to finish a job

Two persons, both draining bout 50 cups of coffee every night....

And there was this day when the ONLY thing we ate was coffee+milk...

Also you can try mate, far less tasty than a good coffee, but it will wake you even more

random fact: coffee+milk+vodka= yummy 8) :D

Anyone remember Surge? That stuff was good. Apparently they still make it in some parts of America, including Kick. If anyone has seen it around you should tell me where to find it! I want some more!

Is your company so desperate that you need to post their website on talk forums to sell a crappy energy drink? Come one, spend money on advertisements like real companies do!

That new energy soda coke puts out now tastes alot like surge, as does the MT Dew MDX energy soda.

Where I live we have this soda made and bottled locally called Ski. It's a citrus soda like Mt Dew only 10x better! It is finally starting to spread out a little though this is the only place you can get it in the old fashioned refillable glass bottles. I am in Southern IL, about 30 min from St Louis MO. Tons of caffeine in the thing and it does wonders for the morning after a night of heavy drinking. (I also live in the county known for drinking, we are in the top 3 per capita in IL and up there in the US as well.)

I live in Minnesota, right on the border of Wisconsin :)  We can hold our own around here, lots of farmboys. (not me though)

Ski sounds badass, I do snow and water Ski. Looking on eBay.

I worked at the Coke Bottling Plant in Red Wing, MN for awhile, we stole a full pallet of Vault. (the new Surge)

Edit: Only vintage Ski on eBay :(
November 14, 2006 9:45:35 PM

Blueberry/raspberry juice. Acai juice. Black tea with lemon. Red beers (V8 and beer)

Vault! that's it. Couldn't remember the name.

Here's a web site for ski, dunno about buying it tho
http://www.excelbottling.com/.

Vault, I had it once, tasted like a cross between Sierra Mist and Mountain Dew. Here's a drink with and interesting name:

Cocaine energy drink.

Mods, before you ban me, check out the link, perfectly legal, I swear :)  . Limited availability though.

Here's a particularly scathing review of Steven Seagal's Lightning Bolt. If half of it's true that is some nasty stuff.

Check the wikipedia page for energy drinks. It includes a comprehensive list of caffeine content of any energy drink you might think of.

Nothing but Mt. Dew and water for me.
November 15, 2006 12:34:43 AM

If your daring, try a redline. I warn you however, only drink 1-2 redline per week, since this will kill you (due to the concentration of the drink).

AMP from mountain dew, cool colore, similar Dew taste with a twist.

So Guarana malto dextrine(?) and other crap.

Those expensive Starbucks double shot are pretty strong!!

eh?

I look at it like this, I"m just right across the smaller pond from canada. I see many upon many people from up north that go antique shopping and deer hunting around this area.

yeah, usually thats the drink of choice. mt. dew is quite unhealthy, I never really had a thing for pop. Bawls isnt bad to mix with bacardi actually.
I do like doubleshot although its $2.49 a can   These are just speciality drinks. My beverage diet is 95% milk & water.

CC and Ginger!

Prefer Pure Springs or Vernors for the Ginger, but CanadaDry will do.

BTW, the first post should be deleted as a blatant ad.

JOLT cola - twice the caffeine and Real Sugar.

Sobe has a 'Superman' drink which is quite effective - avoid any glowing green rocks you might see after drinking it.

For more Caffiene related material - check out www.thinkgeek.com - they have a whole caffeine section - including Caffinated Soap - not sure how your lan parties go - but participants could use soap.

Cheers.

Monsters and adrenaline will keep you awake and taste awesome!
November 15, 2006 4:48:25 PM

If your going for a weekend of abuse and have a week or so to recover, try this. Coffee, Redbull and curry powder. Wakes you up like nothing else. It tastes even worse than custard creams and vodka in a glass.

For drinks:
Jolt and Bawls.

For food:
Top ramen/pizza for dinner, in-n-out for midnight cravings, eggo waffles for breakfast.
November 15, 2006 5:22:11 PM

in-n-out burger ..... Oh yes - nothing less than a 3x3. Have never had the courage or the appitite for the 12x12. Animal Style is my favorite.
November 15, 2006 5:23:36 PM

Go class. Go Wild Turkey or Night Train.

...or Sparkes if your Xtreme.
November 15, 2006 5:43:29 PM

There are lots of energy drinks you can buy nowadays. A matter of fact the energy boosting business have skyrocketed and keep growing at a fast in the last to years. Before there was drink that gives you wings and now there's countless of them at a local 24hour stores and gas stations.

Lan parties I usually don't go anymore, just some private gaming sessions. But I purchase Redbulls and drink coffee regularly just for a night cap while gaming. Mix that with beer and now you got a drunken master playing counter strike all nighter.

But I heard some retardcore-players who is unsatisfied with the energy drinks advantages during lan competitions and go beyond energy drinks, tablets and gums and used drugs instead. I've read about that on Wired magazine or something and here in Toms as well.

People passing out during Lan parties for they haven't sleep or eat for couple of days and fueled only with them energy booster products. These energy drinks have some impact on people healths that occasionally drink this at Lan parties. I've seen people, to the point they are pale and skinny for they have only eaten caffiene gums and bullets on Counter Strike. It's pretty scary to watch them play, and not notice the people around them. Developing some sort of Hyper active attention deficit disorder and they're eyes glued to the monitor. Touch their shoulders while they're playing and they would jump up really fre@king scared sh*tless. Some just straight out looking like a vampire. Some even have said that these energy boosters are becoming addictive just like a cigarette to a smoker.

That's why I tried to avoid drinking energy drinks, except coffee which I'm already addicted to. I value my health more than my gaming wit.

Um, pretty much every post after it is also a blatant ad (with the notable exeption of the one about Steven Segal's Lightning Bolt) including your own. A few others also had direct links to retail websites :p  All he did was link a place to get the stuff he was talking about while opening up a legitemet topic for discussion, which in this case is necessary as ordering from a link like the one he posted is the only way to get that particular product (you would hardly reccomend an obscure peice of computer hardware without telling someone where they could buy it would you?). It's probably not his storefront anyway as that seems to be your deciding line for what is and isn't blatant advertisement. Unfortunately it contians no stimulants xD

As for me: Prefer ephedra (and a little bit of caffeine) and b vitamins to any of those high-caffeine, high-sugar, high-sodium drinks anyday. Too much caffeine and sugar makes me nauseous and too much sodium will dehydrate you. Caffeine and ephedrine boost neural activity but you have to stay hydrated and nurished for that to do you any good! Drink lots of water too (hopefully they game you're playing allows for bathroom breaks xD). Unfortunately some dumb-ass baseball player decided it was a good idea to take massive doses of ephedra and caffeine EVERY DAY and then died, and people were sad about it (I say let evolution take it's course, but that's another discussion altogether) and the FDA banned the sale of ephedra... but children's cold medicine still contains the same active ingredient (not that I reccomend drinking cough syrup instead).
November 15, 2006 5:46:31 PM

I actually avoid caffeine every chance I can... so umm... juice?

Next time you go to in-n-out......ask for "The flying dutchman"....it's my favorite thing on the secret menu.

Flying Dutchman= 2 meat....2 cheese...on fry bag paper....nothing more...nothing less.

I usually order 2 or 3 of them because they are so freaking tastey.

So reign in you defence of the absurd before you hurt yourself bending over backwards.

I don't know how to articulate it exactly but there's a difference. People showing support for a brand they like (or criticizing a brand they don't like), making recommendations for a person who has questions, or engaging in a discussion about the pro's and con's of something isn't quite the same as making a post that basically says "this product is better than every competitor, I just bought loads of it" and then links directly to the manufacturer's website.
November 15, 2006 7:03:42 PM

I agree. And where's the OP? Not here, because all he wanted was to post his BS, and find the next forum to put it on.
November 15, 2006 7:24:38 PM

Sodium is a strange one. Not enough and it can lead to dehydration as well. Too much and your kidneys can shut down which is why you shouldn't drink a lot of seawater. :D

Caffeine, one of the items everyone seems to like on this thread, will definitely dehydrate you because it's a diuretic.

For a short period of time in 2005 ephedrine was allowed back on the market but earlier this year it, the original ban was upheld. It is still present in cold, allergy, and asthma medicines.
November 15, 2006 7:48:16 PM

The Sugar free Monster light blue label, taste great and less filling.
