To sum it up shortly, I had shut down my computer the other day, and when I started it back up, my onboard nic wasnt functioning. There was no light on in the back even though the network cable was plugged in. I put some new cables in thinking, one might have been faulty but it wasnt that. I put in a new nic thinking that the old one possibly could have burnt out, but nothing there either. Both of them dont light. The wierd thing is, that windows picks them up as both working properly. No conflicts either. So idk whats wrong. someone help me plz!!!

Try uninstalling any/all network cards in Device Manager, shut down the PC and move the nic to another PCI slot (if you have one free) then restart the PC and install the nic drivers again.

tried it..nothing comp picks it up as working but it seems as if there is no power going to the nic, which cant be because other stuff plugged in my pci slots like my sound card are working fine.

Try moving to another port on your router/switch.
