I have now a dual channel kit Patriot 2x512 LLK CL2.0-3-2-5@2.7v.

I have an excelent financial proposal to buy a dual channel kit Kingston 2x1GB CL2.0-3-2-6@2.6v.

Can anyone tell me if there's any problem in installing both kits together?

Thanks a lot!

I'm gonna climb out on a limb here and say no,
I can't say exactly what the system would do,
but I'm sure it would'nt be good, the timings are
different and so are the input voltages.
1 set will be over-clocked, 1 set will be
under-clocked and the FSB will be totally confused.

Even if i specify the timmings and voltages manually (instead of auto by the SPD)? What about CL-2.0-3-2-6@2.7v ?

Thanks.

Ignore m-d's post. Assuming both sets are rated at the same DDR speed (e.g. DDR-400), you won't be over- or under-clocking anything. Since all the RAM on your MB needs to run at the same timings and voltage, you *may* have to run at the higher of the two spec voltages and *may* have to run at the 2-3-2-6 timings. Experiment a bit. You may find this post helpful in dealing with voltages and timings:

PS - Don't forget to use memtest86+ or equivalent to test the RAM everytime you change the settings (before trying to run Windows). If you get ANY error, those settings are no good.
