Hey followed the Dual core overclocking sticke practically word for word and have got my E6600 to 3GHz (keeping it safe til i have more experience :p )

my only query is that whilst running 'coretemp' i noticed that one core is a few degrees hotter then the other

e.g. Core 0 = 56
Core 1 = 53

(in dgrees C)

Is that ok? and is there a way to solve it i.e. a more even spread of thermal paste?

thanks

I read about this before and I don't suspect that there is any problem... Someone else should be able to confirm this, but until then good luck with the OCing!

Good to hear - was thinking of overclocking further but would it be worth waiting til i get new PC fans - not specifically CPU fans but general case fans or will they not help much in the way of the CPU?

thanks again
