running an e6700 @ 3ghz (stays around 35-38')

Not really.. I have the same board and my temps run around 40-42C with a e6600 stock at 33-35C. Its just a hot board

just put two
40mm Blue LED Light Chip Set Cooling Fan
of these on.. one on the north bridge other on your south bridge...
that will drop your temps a bit...
mine board runs at 33 deg...
