I bought a cheap cheap computer second hand and stripped it of everything usable. One little treasure I found was a DVD-R/RW drive. It is recognized on BIOS but it has not acknowledged there being any media in it yet. Since it is used I do not know if it is busted or if DVD R/RW DOES NOT in fact stand for dvd reader/re-writer as I was led to belive years ago.

Pioneer DVR-105VE

Thanks

As far as i know DVD R/RW means it can read DVD's and read Re-written DVD's so it sounds your drives just broken. Try smashing it on the road or something.
