dvd-rw not recognized in the system anymore

Hello everyone!
i have encountered a problem a few days ago. My dvd-rw does not show up in BIOS and windows xp, but i ran fine untill a few days ago.
my system specs are:
cpu: intel c2d e6400 (oc`ed to 2660 mhz)
Abit AB9 mb.
2x512 geil ddr2 800
gainward gf 7950 gt
creative audigy
dvd-rw GSA-4167B

from what it ceased to show up after i installed daemon tools and nero image drive.
but not to show up in bios either....strange.
i tried to update the firmware but since its not recognized, couldn`t do that.
every other driver is up to date.
i was thinking of reinstalling windows, but since it doesn`t show up in bios i can`t set it up to boot from the dvd.
It has power also, the tray is opening if i push the button.
The jumper is set corectly, and i tried every configuration.

Please help!!!

hi.
u can try to change ide cable.
if it refuses to wrk ,
if ti is possible try the driver in an other systema friend.
if still have the same problems then your drive is dead.

Thanks for the advice , i finally figured it out. During overclocking i also raised some voltages, and it seems that my board couldn`t cope with that.
got everything on default and now its working fine.
