I've come up with the build for my new gaming rig. I would like to keep all the parts around the same price, but does anyone see any incompatibilities or have suggestions for replacement parts?

This is my first custom build, so I want to do it right. I'm the most worried about the MB choice. I'd be willing to spend up to $100 if a far superior board is out there. I don't need SLI, and the features on the ABIT board are ample.

Thanks!

looks ok to me
although would be better if you supplied PSU information
you should only need a 400W for this but 480W would be safer

this may be nit picking but i would try to get hold of a 7200.10 hdd as the performance is quite a bit better

just to let you know this is about an 18 month old setup so gaming whilst still very good (my comp has the same spec) will not be top of the line

if you can afford it i would look to go for a core2duo e6300 (dual core) and a 6600gt then look to buy a 8600gt when they are released just my opinion any way

good luck with your build

I was planning on a namebrand 500 PSU to avoid buying a new one when I upgrade. I have no need to play games at their max settings... I just want to play a new game for once. I'm going AMD all the way, no chance for Intel. 2-3 years down the road I'd upgrade to vista and get a DX10 card with new CPU.

Does anyone else have a comment on this motherboard, or know of a better replacement in the $70-100 range?
