Hello,
I recently built a new ivy bridge 3570k system with a Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H Mobo and a XFX ATI Radeon 7870 Ghz Edition Video Card, I have two issues, the first is, randomly my system will lock up and ill get vertical lines up and down my screen, most of the time theyre blue and white lines. the second issue i have is if i go into my control panel, my high definition audio device driver is not working properly. ive tried to reinstall the drivers but it doesnt help, my sound works fine btw. So im kind of stumped atm. Any help for this first time builder is most appreciated. thanks.

I think you have 3 audio devices:
-3570k intel hd 4000 HDMI
- motherboard audio chipset from VIA
- and audio support in your ATI 7870
hard to tell which one is not working
(try to disable the ones you are not using)

When the system locks up, I assume you are not getting a bugcheck. I would look to update your graphics drivers as a first start. Also do not overclock the motherboard or graphics card and see if the problem still occurs.
