i just got myself a E6400, DS3 with latest bios, G .Skill DDR2 800 @ 5-5-5-12 timings.

i managed with little effort to get my system up to 3.2Ghz running a 400Mhz FSB and the ram running at a native 800Mhz due to that. I didn't do Any voltage increases, i didnt even strip out the thermal compound that came with the stock cooler and used that instead of my arctic silver... and the cpu load is hovering @ 52C or usually below and idles @ 45C++.
Sys temp is being read @ 41C consistently
Oh i left the ram @ 5-5-5-12

Is this normal? Are E6400's this good??? Or did i get very lucky?[/img]

its a generic Aluminum Large case with loads of room and 4 fans running low rpms, pretty good airflow for sure, i think its also helping that i dont turn the heater on and its probably around 70 ambient temp in the room where my comp is lol. i just noticed tht it was a bit chilly when my hands felt a bit cold lol.

however, what are Safe heat levels if i really wanna push this baby to crazy heights? is 60C+ acceptable?

I'd keep it below 60... any higher and I'd be afraid for it...\

Forgot what the limitation is before it throttled... most likely high 60's low 70's...
