I'm building another system except this one is Intel powered,
I've selected a C2D 6600 for $312, ASUS P5W DH Deluxe for $229 and 2 gig's of Corsair XMS2 DDR2 800 for $306..

Here is a link to the parts for your convenience: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16820145040

I'm not as sharp on Intel as i am on AMD so i wanted to get your advice and opinions.
Ive heard of compatability problems using ASUS, Intel, memory and certain chipsets so i wanted to make sure I'm on track here.
My goal is to build another smokin fast gaming machine with 8800GTX and XP Pro for now as a hold-over for Vista..
thanx n advance

Looks good. I would not even bother with Pro, just get home, and save the extra cash. Along with that, the 680i boards would be a lot better for DX10 use, and C2D overclockability.

With that, I guess you need some more accessories? Harddrive, DVD drive, etc. Well here ya go:

Powersupply:

Harddrive:

DVD drive:

Case: I like this one, really passive cooling. Hoping to have it for my DX10 upgrade (current case is too small to fit a DX10 card) Still not absoultely positive on the length, but if it works, I would go with this:

Sound card: X-fi sounds reasonable:

Have fun. :D Hope I was helpful.

If you don't plan on overclocking then for memory all you need is DDR2 533 or 667. Get whichever is cheapest. You don't need DDR 800.

Currently, the Crucial 10th Anniversary are some of the best DDR2 667 memory out there. CL3. They are nice.
