Hi!

Doing some research for a university essay, but while processor process
sizes are so easily available, chipset sizes are not. Tried google without
much success.
Anyone know what size is being used? 130nm? 110?

Thanks in advance!

http://www.digit-life.com/articles2/mainboard/ati-ref-am2-xpress3200.html

There's line which said :
"Well-known CrossFire Xpress 1600 (RD480), previously known as Xpress 200 CFE, with switch-selectable PCI Express x16 configuration ("x16+x1"/"x8+x8") belongs to the group of systems with two video cards of entry level and "CrossFire Ready" (with a single video card to be supplemented in future). Note that 3000-series chips are manufactured by the 0.11-micron process technology, while Xpress 1600 is still 0.13-micron."

I hope it help you.

:?: Next you'll be asking how many layers are used in the construction of each MCH / NorthBridge, right ?

:?: Then transistor counts / and die sizes in square mm.

At least if you're studying what I think you're studying.
