as stated above, FSP is a pretty prestigious and popular company. i'd go with them, however, not because of that fact, but rather because they have like $2 cheaper shipping :D

i'm a BAAAAADDDDD cheapskate.

out of those 2 I like the Hiper better. But I really dont like either one.

my first choice for 500w and under would be:

www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817151029

and my second choice would be:

By the way this is the Seasonic I'm using right now and I love it. Very well made. I recommend them all the way!

Yeah I would buy a more powerful or a seasonic, but this is going to be part of a budget build. And i know for a fact that both those PSU's are good brands.

Then I shall get the Hiper then! I am getting the eVGA 7600GT, but it might be powerful enough for future upgrades i hope!

Yeah I know, I am kind of on a budget, so I may get a stronger DX9 card like an x1950 or a 7950. Otherwise, I might just wait a few months, maybe even a year, before I get a new DX10 card and PSU.

Thanks again.

I would get the FSP.

Strike one against newegg: The spec summary is wrong, it lists the continuous outputs not the peak.

This unit has 17.5A peak per +12 rail. You can add the two for a 31A giving you 372W total on +12. It's right on the money since +3, +5, +12 combined is rated at 440w. I think FSP / SPI are the only manufacturer that lets you do this.

Strike two: Price! Get it from ewiz for $65 / $76 shipped

Last Question: Would the 500W be too powerful or would the 450W be sufficient power for this system: E6400, GA DS3, 2gb ram, 250gb HDD, 7600GT?

I've got the FSP running my rig. Absolutely no problems. My 165 and X1800XT are both slightly overclocked.
