3d mark numbers don't make sense

Ack! With my system at 3.1ghz 3D Mark06 was 3882. At 3.28ghz it was 3899! In both cases my marks were the lowest when compared to 12 similar systems and my CPU FPS was 0-2! What the hell is going on with my system?? The GPU FPS was about 12-14 at BEST.

Please help!

A dual core should get about 0-2 fps in the cpu test.
It's normal.

3D Mark is a synthetic benchmark and it does
not affect real world performance.

One possible reason they got a higher score could be
they have overclocked their rigs?

But shouldn't I have seen a bigger increase than 17 points when overclocking my CPU by 180mgz?

Not necessarily. Overclock the video card for better 3dmark scores.

3dmark05 and 06 are more are gpu concerned and not cpu. why don't you try something like pcmark04 and 05 and see if there are any differences. by the way, it's like someone mentioned above, 3dmark scores doesn't mean everything. As long as you could play your games and run your program at acceptable speed, then you got a great pc.
PS: I have a friend whos running p4 1.4ghz and hes perfectly happy with it. -_-...
