Hello,
I am trying to access the DVD player on a Windows 7 PC.
I am getting a login screen asking for User and Password. Where do I set this up on the Win 7 pc to accept my user name and password so that i can then log on to it?
Are you trying to access the drive remotely? From another PC?[/quotem
Yes i am. Both pc's are on a wired network and in the same windows work group.
I have taken off password protected sharing but still get this login screen.
When the login prompt appears, try logging in using the user ID and password you use to login to the PC on which the DVD player resides.
let us know.
I am entering the user name but there is no password as i did not enter one when setting up this pc. Should i try creating a password and then login on?

If you haven't created a password for that user on the machine with the DVD, the user name - alone - would be sufficient.
Click the details arrow and make sure you are logging in as a user local to the machine (the PC on which the DVD player resides).
I am not sure what you mean, what details arrow and where?. I have created a password on the PC with the dvd and I can now log on and view all drives and files. Thanks for trying to help.
