Hello,
How can I check the HDD temperature in Windows? (I've seen a lot of people posting their HDD temps and asking if it is OK or not - but I couldn't find any free tools out that that would do that...)
I use a ASUS P5W DH Deluxe mobo - E6600 - Two Seagate SATA 7200.9 300GB drives in RAID 1 (for OS and data) and a Seagate 7200.10 750GB for video/audio. (Win XP Pro SP2)

Any help or pointers would help!
Thanks!

I'll second Speedfan - very simple and small interface. (Among other things) it gives current HD temp, and if you let your mouse hover over the temp, it will give average temp and high temp as well.

Another choice is HDSentinel.
Has some more useful features besides temps compared to the others ;)

You are right - I tried both hddtemp and speedfan - neither one is able to report the temps on the HDD - funny part though is that they weren't able to report on the 750GB's temps either! That is not on a RAID...
I love speedfan though (what is the AUX temp that it shows?)

Old thread -- but the best program out there is missing: Argus Monitor (get it at: http://www.argusmonitor.com ). You should give it a try -- apart from being the best tool to monitor the HDD temperature (and the other SMART attributes as well) it can also monitor temperatures of CPU and GPU, can set the GPU fan speed (I tried it with my HD5xxx card), can show if the Turbo Boost is working.
