Using an Asus mobo like the P5B deluxe, with stock cooling you can oc that little monster at about 3,5 Ghz. On water cooling you can go above 4 Ghz.

Good luck!

To get 3.5g on a 6300, you will need luck and some very nice and expensive RAM, get a 6400 instead its a lot easier and you get a better choice of ram which is cheaper

Corsair 667 RAM and stock cooling can hit 3.0 no problem. 800 RAM and aftermarket cooling will get you even better numbers.

Chicks won't be impressed, but you will be ;)

my E6300 is at 2.62ghz, but after 1.5 hours of dual prime95's, it gets over the 60c and the system beeps, so i turned it off. What is dangerous temps, and what settings can i adjust to help bring that temp down without having to get a new cooler yet? Vcore is at 1.325 right now.

On stock cooling, I would expect the OC to be more in the 2.8-3.0ghz range on average (with quality RAM of course). 2.4-2.5ghz is an extremely conservative estimate.

Agreed. 2.8 is easy on an S3/DS3 with some decent RAM.

Aftermarket cooling will get you above 3.0 no problem, again with decent RAM. I got 3.0 with Zalman 9500 and OCZ Plat 800. I have no need to push it further though, I'm happy with a 60% overclock ;)

I have a p5w-dh, e6300, with 2gb of ddr2 667 corsair ram. I am also watercooled with an exos 2. For some reason I can only get to 2.8ghz. I was wondering what your v core voltages are and what else I can do to get it higher. Also when playing battlefield 2, after about 10 min my ram usage goes to 99% and starts lagging up really bad? Otherwise it runs stable in all other applications.

I'm not sure my settings will translate to yours.......I have a diff mobo and diff RAM.......?

But just for funsies, here's what I got (I'm going from memory here though):

-430 FSB
-1:1 RAM ratio
-vCore - one step above 1.300v (whatever it is....I think 1.3125v???)
-vMCH +0.1v
-vFSB +0.1v
-vDIMM +0.2v
-RAM timings @ 4-5-4-15 (stock timings on the OCZ Plat 800)
-PCI-e locked @ 33.33 (I think??)
-C1E and all that other "optimizing stuff" set to DISABLED.

Sounds about right. 3.01ghz. Zalman 9500 CPU cooler, and Thermaltake Esprit Northbridge cooler too. 120mm front intake case fan, 120mm rear exhaust fan, 80mm side intake fan.

Dual instances Prime 95, no errors after 20+ hours.

44C idle, 55C load according to CoreTemp. EasyTune shows lower temps by about 10C.

I haven't gotten around to testing by lowering the vDIMM, vFSB, etc yet. Too busy.......but it runs rock solid and temps are ok, so it's not at the top of my priority list right now.
