What is the top AGP speed of your motherboard?

You see, if it is 8x then you are safe; but if it is 4x, then you should take into account the voltage at which your AGP slot works.

0.8V for AGP 8x/4x;
1.5V for AGP 4x/2x/1x;
3.3V for AGP 2x/1x.

Be very careful, otherwise you might end up burning your new card (0.8V card in a 1.5V slot).

If it works at 8x then it works with 0.8V as well.

My concern was that most (if not all) AGP cards currently in production operate at 8x and 0.8V.

Ok then, you are off the hook! :)

i narrowed my search after i read the best video cards for the money guide, and the best option it listed was the x850 pro and according to the vga charts it seems to hold its own against the competition.

raven that is one cool looking peice of hardware, but i m confused over the 128 bit memory, can you please reflect on that cause the x850 has a gddr3 256 bit one, sorry for being a pain in the you know what.
one thing i have noticed that the x850 does not have all the relevant information like the HIS x1650 card

True. All X16xx cards have a 128bit bus and GDDR2. However the x1650's carry a smaller production node (80nm), updated memory controller and an architecture that is not similar to the X850. I"m sure around stock they fair about the same (application or game dependent) however when overclocked I'd place my $$ on the X1650 giving you more of a return mhz for mhz.
