If you plan to overclock, 30 bucks is worth the extra multplier. Now be it $100 or 200, meh, probably not... but 30 bucks is a few lunches at McDonalds.... just save up some lunch money.

I agree.

For the higher multiplier, YES.

I dont get it what is the multiplier?
November 18, 2006 6:06:45 PM

The multiplier is the frequency multiplier, the amount the bus speed is multiplied by to get the actual clock speed. On most Core 2's I believe that ranges around 7 to 9.

Why is it that every time I give the simple answer I'm crushed by the sheer weight of your knowledge?

If someone don't understand the "simple answer" and want to learn the detailed one, don't be rude. Why are you implying that this man is stupid? Because he doesn't know much about computers? so what? You seem to be another spoiled kid, you do that in all your posts. And you do post like 100 posts per day in this forum.

I hope in the future you learn the meaning of "patience" and stop acting as a superior being.

I won't answer cause it's going to turn to a flame war and can't be bothered, sorry if you feel offended but you are rude in general (well to me you are).

Read this, and tell me if I'm being rude. Don't presume to know me, or what I mean. I would never insult Jack and the post was mean to be a joke. So next time try to read everything, and read between the lines before you hit the keyboard and make an ass of yourself.
And yes, now I'm being rude and harsh.

RAWR! Go get 'em Ninja! :twisted:

@Wiggles:
E6300 -> x7
E6400 -> x8
E6600 -> x9
E6700 ->x10
X6800 -> x11 (unlocked)
XQ6700-> x10 (unlocked)

On all the non-Extreme Core2s you can only lower the multiplier up to x6 if the motherboard allows it. On the Extreme Core2s its unlocked from x6 to x13 (x15 theorically but motherboards dont support it), hence the high price.

To tell you the truth, I hate having to get pissy with anyone. Much rather be friendly.

I'd vote for the 6400 over the 6300 unless you're really strapped for cash.
