Hey guys I have a Asus P5GDC Deluxe motherboard and am running 2GB's of generic crap on my 4 DDR slots. I'm lookin to go pro haha and go 2 x 1GB DDR2.

My question is it shows in the manual that the most you can put in is DDR2 533. What if I put in DDR2 667, would it still run or what is going to happen if I exceed 533. Im lookin to get some OCZ but it's at 667 and I wanted to check with you guys to see if my motherboard wont have a problem handling it or if I should stay below 533 and just run with DDR2 400.

Ideally I am lookin to get some DDR2 that will help me get rid of this generic crap and hoping to overclock my Intel p4 3 to 3.4 - 3.6 then.

You got any recommendations for a good ram for overclocking or OCZ. Cosair, Kingston all good? Is DDR2 400 / 667 really going to show a difference at all or is one of them going to be better / easier for overclocking?

Thanks for your help guys

Mehh, I have P5GDC Deluxe with DDR2-800 (before DDR-400).
1. This board runs greater and overclocks more with DDR1!
2. BIOS is crappy, you can put DOMINATOR 1066 and will work, but the BIOS limit is 667 (with new BIOS) with poor divider.
Why DDR1 works more good? Well, with 800FSB processor (P4 5xx/6xx) the motherboard FSB is 200 (QDR). This is 400mhz for memory with 1:1 divider (best performance). I run 540J @ 4.2Ghz with DDR2 on this board, but with 1:1 divider and ~500mhz ram
Stay with DDR1
