It would be nice if the authors of Tom's articles would reference at the end of the article a related sticky for addition information/ideas, if applicable.

I'm using this article as a reference only since it is the one that got me thinking about this. The recent article Beginners Guide to Selecting a Motherboard is similar in concept to Proximon's Sticky and jbakerlent's sticky. Granted Tom's article is an update to a 2006 article (wasn't aware of that at first) but all three share a similar concept in how they are trying to help beginners. It would've been a nice touch to make a reference to these stickies in the article. I understand the author is an expert and is getting paid to write & provide the valueable information. At the same time, the authors of these stickies are providing just as valueable of information to the forum posters.

It would be a nice way to tie the articles to the forums and to give a little thanks to the forum members who put time & effort into providing Tom's users with useful information (for free).

I think that's a great idea, as those stickies are extremely good and useful (and updated often so even if you stumble on an old article, the sticky recommendations will be up to date). I know I looked through all of them before building my new PC even though I consider myself somewhat experienced in building home PCs.

This has been done once with the Linux forum sticky (which is still quite poor but nobody has had time to make a good one), but I agree, it would be good to do it more often. I'll pass the suggestion along to Chris Angelini.
