Do you use PPPoE? (need password and username)

Is there a Router in the Equation? (if so, what kind? Linksys, Belkin..)

And why did you update Verizon software anyway... I've never needed any software from verizon. You can make your own connection with just windows (Network Connections). Only case I can see you needing software is if your DSL modem is connected to the computer through at USB port. I would suggest RJ-45 (No software needed) to fix your software use. A network card thats 100 MB transfer can cost like 19.99 at a radio shack (if you don't have one).

If anything, Id call Verizon.. They can help with anything.

Hope this helps..

Can you get network connectivity if you set a static ip?
Right click my network places and go to properties
Right click on your network connection and go to properties
Click on "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" and click properties
Choose to use the following IP address
Assuming you are using the default linksys address scheme give this a try:
IP: 192.168.1.200
sub: 255.255.255.0
gate: 192.168.1.1
pref dns: 192.168.1.1
alt dns: none

See if you can get on the internet with that or atleast ping the router.
type ping 192.168.1.1 in a command prompt.
