This week I'm planning on buying parts for a new pc while keeping an eye on a future update (450W for a DX10 card when the prices drop).

Specs:

Thermaltake Soprano
OCZ ModStream 450W
Intel E6300 Allendale (Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro)
G.E.I.L. 1 GB DDR2-667 CL3 4-4-8 @ 1.9V > 2.4V or maybe
G.E.I.L. 1 GB DDR2-800 CL4 4-4-12 @ 2.1V both same price
CLUB3D X800RXmax 256MB GDDR3
Abit AB9 Pro
Raptor 74GB
LG GSA-H22N

Well, my question is....what will be the best memory for this setup to run around 3Ghz with a temperature below 60C?
If these memory modules both are not suitable to get the job done could someone please advise me on another brand (around the same price). Thx for your help.

Do you have access to newegg?

Ummm, I never bought via newegg as I live in The Netherlands but I do know the site :) So you want me to start reading buyers reviews? :p But I thought you and Wiz could help me better. ;) BTW I just looked for that mem and it does not show up at newegg. :(

Unless its about DOA or exploding in a week, NO.

Considering your budget, youre speding too much on case. Try lowering that to the most you can. I recommend 120mm fans absolutely, but if youre planning on adding many other fans, this wont matter.

450W for futute DX10 cards might be a little low. 500W would be a minimun.

Go for a E6400, the multiplier alone is worth the money.

Those two a most likely the same chips given the complete timings on the 667 modules. Pick the 800CL3 ones for safety.

7600GT if there is to spare.

Nice pick on mobo.

Unless youre getting that drive for half the price of a 150GB, its not worth it. Get a Seagate or WD and use the spare on the better CPU and gfz, this will give you tons more performance.

Ummm, excuse me bengkiam but what exactly are you trying to tell me? :) Is that good or bad? I remember to have overclocked a cyrix 200MHZ past the performance of any Intel CPU at the time I was just a little kiddy. So I forgot most of it. :D

Well, this will be my final setup rwaritsdario....hope this is a good setup.

€ specs:

CoolerMaster Elite 330 1x 120MM REAR € 69,95
CoolerMaster 120MM SAF-S12-E1 FRONT € 11,95
Abit AB9 PRO € 165
Intel E6400 Allendale CPU € 217,50
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 PRO € 19
G.E.I.L. 1 Gb DDR2-800 CL4 4-4-12 € 139
Leadtek 7600GT PCI-E 590/1600MHZ € 141,25
Samsung SH-S182M with LightScribe Tech € 32,50
Maybe make use of my older seagate 160GB dunno yet

TOTAL € 796,15

Guess you have to use some eurocalculator or some simulair calculator to see if that's cheap compared to the American prices :) With this 7600GT you advised me I found an extreme edition that was clocked very high for only 41 euro more. I've read that it will play allmost every game that is out so far at the highest settings. Also Wusy did some great OC article here on Toms forum and it indeed showed DDR2-800 is the best way to go as it will reach 500MHZ which is best for duo core OC.

The only thing I'm having my doubts with is the casing.....maybe there is a better case for around that price?

Looks good, just a few couple of things:
Make sure that fan is silent since its going for the case (<30dB)
The gfx seems a bit expensive, try to find a cheaper one if it isnt overclocked.

You are right....got a cheaper version now :)

Asus EN7600GT whitebox version € 129

It runs a bit slower (1400Mhz instead of 1600Mhz and 560Mhz instead of 590Mhz)but I think that the difference won't be that huge with the same amount of mem (256MB GDDR3).

Do you have some good Cases in mind with a respectible pricetag? If not it's ok. thx

Look for comfortable insides and good ventilation. Prices are brands will be dependant on your area.

Wel, 120MM fans usually are silent so I'll guess I'll stick with this case:

CoolerMaster Elite 330 1x 120MM REAR € 69,95
CoolerMaster 120MM SAF-S12-E1 FRONT € 11,95 cooling

Or maybe this case:

Thermaltake Soprano € 69 with cooling but without PSU
CoolerMaster Extreme Power 430W € 45

I'm off to bed now...catch ya later.

Sry, if you read this forumz memory guide you'll find that micron is in the first line of memory chipset class. Elpida and promos are in the second line of memory chipset class. If you want to oc your ram, both of this thing will obstruct you before 1000mhz cl4 no matter how much v.dimm you give.

Second, In micron chip itself there is a grade. Briefly: D9GKX(80nm die, cycletime 2.5ns) > D9GMH(80nm,3ns) > D9DQT(90nm,3ns) > D9DQW(90nm,3.75ns) and so on.

My GSkill F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ has D9GMH in it and It's simply oced to 1000mhz 4.4.4.12 2.3v with no glitch at all. There is enough evidence reveals many guys had successful reaching DDR2-1200 5.5.5.15 with this memory but I dunno its v.dimm.

Well, that's a nice thing to read cause the module GEIL GX21GB6400U I'm aiming at has D9GMH.
