More Information

I got a strange problem, please help!

I just bought a GA-965P-DS4, I install the motherboard with two new sataII drives, a WD 320G se16 drive and a 250G se16, I have tested them, everything's in good condition.

cause I have some seagate drives so I enable AHCI in the bios, now, bios can identify the two WD drives fine but after bootup screen the computer just halted or keep reboot itself, try turn AHCI off or reset bios don't help, when I unpluged those two WD drives, the computer can boot up properly again, I try install my other WD 250G se16 drive and everything works fine.

I installed those two damaged WD drives on my other K7 computer, they are fine, I can access, copy, read them without problems, then I put one of it back to the DS4, and the DS4 freeze up again.

it seems like turn on AHCI made some kind of damage on the WD drives or the motherboard itself, make them couldn't work together, but can anyone explain this? or know what's wrong with them?
