I've got plenty of pets, including 5 bearded dragons. While they aren't gators, they are still pretty cool, and one that most girls aren't terribly fond of. Add to that two turtles, one moster cray fish, a ferrett, and a dog (black lab / chow mix), and I think you will see that I have plenty of pets.

if you read the damned article, then you would see. it has nothing to do with "everyone singing around the campfire holding hands" but it does show a significant drop in casualties, both civilian and military in iraq since the troop surge.

i am not sure and aside from the number of us soldiers deaths i do not think anyone really has any clue how many people have died or how many people iraqi or not are in the country at this moment in time.
now since you pay more attention to these things than i, you may know how they exactly count the dead and also how they know which group's are for or against the us forces.
do they walk about after fire fights counting or what? what about bombings, do they look for civilian bodies?

Every one knows how they count the dead: they count the number of feet they find and then divide by 2!
It always depends on how accurate the data is as well as how it is presented. Could it be that we are seeing less deaths as a result of there simply being less troops in the area on a whole?

well, traditionally, yes it is very difficult to get an exact number as with bombings and such, theres sometimes arent bodies left. but yes, they actually do a body count from what they find. now of course that isnt always conclusive as there are not specific dna analysis of each body to find out if it(different body parts) could be from the same corspe, but it is fairly accurate considering the the collection means. the real question does lie within how it is reported. is such and such news source being reliable and/or they fudging numbers(either way.) i guess you have to basically have to rely on the source, [shrug]
@anoobis in fact there are more US troops in Iraq now(spread throughout the country) than there ever have been so I dont believe that your query is and issue(and that is an opinion so dont take it for fact, just an opinion.)

Even moreso, the news is heavily Democratic and favoring the opposition to the war, thus they would continue to cover anything bad happening there.. which stuff still happens but you're not hearing about 400 dead people showing up a month and 100 US troops getting killed.
I still don't believe in setting a time line. I believe we should start withdrawing without notice though. Also, both sides need to reach an agreement. Yes, a timeline for withdrawal would be great. Also knowing 3 months in advance of when car bombs going off would also be great to know. Have the surge sustain for 3-6 months. Break the backs of those who are waiting, biding their time and getting restless. 3-6 months at this rate I believe we would be able to drastically reduce to a training and maintaining force and not a policing force.
Democrats said it wouldn't work. It did.. not they're shutting up about the war. Republicans wasted too much time in making a correcting decision; though that same patience gave the surge enough time to work.
Anyone can view it how they want. The fact is it required a lot of work and dedication up front so that tomorrow (today) the loss of life would be reduced and control restored.
