I'v installed a 20GB Seagate ST320413A HDD (old as you can guess), and i 'v got a wierd noise coming out of it. A noise similar to a CD spinning in the CD rom. Is this normal? If not, how can this be fixed ,if at all.

uh... NO...

20 bucks says that your hdd is going to die on you soon... and I doubt it can be fixed. Most likely its the drive head thats not aligned correctly, maybe even scratching your platters. It is an old hdd, which is understandable.. see if you can access it. Most likely not...

I've heard something about re-tuning the magnet or something like that...

I have an old hard drive and I use to have one like yours, I think they are just loud...

Try and record it with audacity and upload to putfile (these are just suggestions in case you did not know how) and we can tell you if it sounds normal or not...
